Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Douglas Kampner's family moved to Hillsborough, California where they lived two houses away from Hollywood icon Bing Crosby. He became a vendor at Candlestick Park selling hot dogs, peanuts and souvenirs at San Francisco Giant and 49er games to be closer to live sports action. Douglas was introduced to actor/producer Mel Brooks and actor Gene Wilder at actor Dick Van Patten's house in Burbank and wasinspired to pursue his passion for acting. His first acting role was a life guard on the hit show "Bay Watch". It was this experience that began Doug's desire to become an actor.
